Continent Restaurant And Cigar Lounge Announces Opening

Elevated Dining and Nightlife Experience Joins Buford Highway’s International Corridor in Chamblee

March 25, 2021 (Atlanta, GA) – Already known as a thriving destination for cuisine from all over the globe, the community of Chamblee and its famous Buford Highway is adding even more international flavor with the opening of the Continent Restaurant and Cigar Lounge at 4300 Buford Highway, Atlanta, Ga 30345.

Opening Thursday, April 1 at 5 pm, (no joke!) the elegant establishment will take guests on a captivating journey with tantalizing Afro-Caribbean and Asian-inspired dishes from noted Hell’s Kitchen Season 18 contestant and Chef/Co-Owner Scotley Innis.  

At Continent, the senses are provoked at every turn with bespoke cocktails and an ever-changing food menu—all set to a seductive soundtrack of neo-soul, reggae lovers rock, and on weekends, a live DJ. 

Cool, modern interiors by celebrated designer Larry Davis of L Davis Design add to the ambiance in the main dining room and the separate but adjacent cigar lounge. Lush, ruby-red banquettes, marble floors, dark woods, and other distinctive accents, including red velvet section dividers—as a COVID safety precaution—and oversized and original mixed media works by local Trinidadian artist Andrea Mackenzie add to the aesthetic of the space.

Our restaurant and cigar lounge certainly transcend boundaries starting with the authentic fusion of flavors from the different continents, combined with specifically selected wines, crafted signature cocktails, paired perfectly with rare and personally picked cigars. From the moment they arrive, we want people to feel right at home as if they are getting together in our living room,” says Chef Scotley Innis. 

Fashionable, Flavorful, Fun

Open for dinner, late-night and Sunday brunch, Continent is set to redefine dining and nightlife across metro Atlanta. Bold, eclectic flavors define the menu—with savory selections, such as the Jamaican-inspired Oxtail Lo Mein—braised oxtail pulled off the bone, baby bok choy, and chambray onions. Lamb Suya Chops pay homage to Nigerian street food as three, spicy lamb chops grilled and topped with sliced red onions and charred tomatoes.  The Yardman Oysters offers up a Jamaican twist on the traditional “Rockefeller Oysters” with callaloo, duck bacon and garlic butter and parmesan cheese.  

“Continent is a place for friends and family. It is an intimate, exclusive environment with a focus on the guest experience,” says Mike Haze, who oversees the restaurant, cocktail program and cigar lounge as general manager.

Cocktail offerings are just as daring, with inventive libations including smoked wood-infused selections, such as ‘Call Me Old-Fashioned’ and ‘Sunsets Over Chamblee,’ both modern takes on classic drinks. Other thoughtful touches that will enhance the bar experience include hand-chopped ice, freshly-squeezed juices made-to-order and signature garnishes. 

When it comes to Continent Cigar Lounge, the experience will appeal to beginners and connoisseurs alike. A spacious humidor invites guests to hand-select from a collection of fine cigars—Cohiba, Rocky Patel, and hand-rolled cigars, including the signature Continent Cigar, available in both Connecticut and Maduro versions. The Lounge will also have a cigar membership program, including a private locker to store cigars and access to exclusive bi-monthly events. Rare and aged spirits such as a Macallan flight paired perfectly with cigar selections and Chef Scotley’s small plates menu of Afro-Caribbean favorites.

As for events, Continent is available for corporate gatherings and buyouts and can accommodate up to 120 in the main dining room and 30-50 guests in the cigar lounge. 

Continent will open for dinner, drinks and cigars from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., Tuesday through Saturday and for brunch on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m; Cigar lounge opens at 6 pm.  A nightcap menu begins in the restaurant and lounge from 6 pm to 12 a.m. on Sundays.
