Red Phone Booth Expands Its Presence to Include a New Buckhead Location

The Successful Speakeasy Concept Brings Prohibition Back to Buckhead

ATLANTA, GEORGIA (AUG. 6, 2021) – The popular prohibition-style speakeasy has seen great success in Downtown Atlanta, driving franchises to open nationwide. The speakeasy is now expanding in Atlanta to include a Buckhead location— filling the gap in a prohibition-style lounge in the already bustling community. The award-winning concept is set to open Friday, August 13, 2021 at 5 p.m.

Fitting of a 1920s inspired speakeasy, Red Phone Booth is unbeknownst to passersby, with only an antique London red phone booth to mark its location. While the phone booth is operational, members and their guests know that dialing a secret phone number provides access to the clandestine cocktail bar and cigar lounge, featuring unparalleled service and tantalizing libations.

Founder Stephen de Haan is overjoyed to return to Buckhead where his career in hospitality began and his former ventures, such as Prohibition and East Andrews once flourished. Joining de Haan is Operating Partner Ramon Arocha, who formerly crossed paths with de Haan during his 27-year career at The Tavern at Phipps, where they worked with one another for nearly a decade.

“I am honored to launch this exciting venture with Ramon, an inspiring hospitality professional, who has been a mentor to me since we began working together in 1995,” said de Haan.

The nearly 7,000 square foot location boasts a modified layout to the main bar— doubling production speed of cocktails, a 24 foot-long walk-in humidor, private event space, artwork by Christian Waggoner and, most notably, a state-of-the-art air filtration system. Red Phone Booth’s air filtration system features 10 direct air purifiers, an AAON Direct Outdoor Air System that scrubs the air approximately every three minutes with needlepoint bipolar ionization(NPBI), taking the filtration system down to a molecular level to target airborne particulates, odors, pathogens and even viruses, ensuring a comfortable environment for all.

Red Phone Booth also offers a robust menu, featuring over 47 pages of innovative cocktails, an extensive wine menu with Quintessa, Opus One and Silver Oak by the glass, rare spirits, delectable food and house cigars, including signature imbibes such as “The 18th Amendment” and “Red Phone Booth Air.” Food offerings are curated by Chef Santiago Echavarria of Amalfi Pizza, an Italian concept founded by Greg Grant and de Haan, which is located next door.

De Haan originally gained inspiration for the concept of Red Phone Booth from his grandfather, who was a cigar smoker and pharmacist during the prohibition era— providing whiskey for medicinal purposes. Today, his goal is to transport all who pass through the phone booth to an era reflective of the 1920s.

Red Phone Booth offers three tiers of memberships, ranging in price from $300 annually for an Associate Membership, $750 for a Premium Cigar Locker membership and up to $1750 annually for a Corporate MembershipIn addition to access to the lounge, memberships include private tastings, priority entry to all locations, sofa reservations, humidified cigar lockers and more. Offerings vary based on membership level.

Red Phone Booth will host an open house for prospective members on August 3 to August 7 from 6-9 p.m., followed by a grand opening weekend for members and invited guests on August 13 and 14 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Sunday from 5 p.m. to midnight.
